Base Oni versus the stage 5 Boss
Oni has base mass 110, attack 100, speed 75 and endurance 90. In the first stage 5 progression encounter, Boss bonuses raise mass to 149 and attack to 125; speed and endurance stay unchanged. Selecting Oni in local or custom play uses base ratings, not that progression boost.
Launch practice
To prepare for the Boss, compare Diamond or Moai launches that reduce damaging contact. A local duel against base Oni helps you learn the controls but does not reproduce the boosted stage 5 encounter. No preset is a guaranteed Boss counter.
What these comparisons can tell you
Ratings describe trade-offs, not measured win rates. There are no elemental counters, ring-out wins or shape-specific damage. Launch settings and random critical clashes can change the outcome.
