How to Play Emoji Blade: Rules, Controls & Physics
Emoji Blade transforms Unicode characters into spinning tops with dimensional artwork and simplified 2D physics. The objective is simple: outspin your opponent by depleting their energy.
1. The Slingshot Launch System
You have two intuitive methods to control your launch:
- Arena Touch/Mouse Drag: Press and hold directly on your spinning top inside the circular stadium. Drag backward to aim the glowing trajectory line, and release to shoot!
- Control Panel Sliders: Fine-tune your Launch Power (30% - 100%) and Launch Angle (-180° to +180°) before hitting the “3, 2, 1, GO SHOOT!” button.
2. Understanding Top Physics & Geometry
Your spinning top is governed by four core metrics:
- Mass (Weight): Determines momentum resistance. Heavier tops suffer less recoil when hit, reducing energy loss from collisions.
- Attack: Contributes to energy damage dealt on direct collision.
- Speed (Rating): Affects rotational frequency. Speed also affects launch velocity. Critical hits depend on relative collision speed and a random chance.
- Endurance (Stamina): Governs how slowly your top loses energy over time.
3. Landing Critical Clashes (1.5x Damage)
On a closing collision, a Critical Clash occurs with a 28% random chance or when relative collision speed exceeds 7.5. It triggers:
- 1.5x collision damage to both tops;
- Golden spark shockwaves and severe arena screen shake;
- Critical hits do not increase the collision impulse; the multiplier affects damage.
4. Stage Bosses & 2P Local Mode
Every 5th stage in Streak Mode features a massive Stage Boss (such as 👹 Oni Demon or 👾 Retro Invader) with 35% extra mass and 25% extra attack. Decorative armor teeth do not change collision geometry. Manage your launch angle and power to deplete their spin reserve.
